“equilibruim”

‘‘Equilibrium’’ presents contrasting colors and simple geometric shapes that give life to images whose composition is in precarious equilibrium.

Circles resting on a plane, whose barycenter has now exceeded the threshold of the supporting plane and are about to fall into the infinity of the color below or crash into the other shapes placed below it.

Squares that are the bases for compositions of planes, where the balance is put at risk by the action of gravity or by the simple imagination of the viewer.

Gabriele Modica’s photographs rework minimalism starting from the concept of balance, understood not as stasis, but as an intense struggle to avoid the fall or strenuous resistance to it. His works stop the act that precedes the movement, allowing us to predict the “after”.

For this remix, we used img2img in Stable Diffusion with Gabriele's piece "Scoglio". In combination with ControlNet (which acts as a guidance image) and masked with inPainting. This involves marking part of the image with a black brush to create a mask and stable diffusions know to only start using the prompt as a visual guide in that area.
